Zucchini Imprisonment

Contrary to what you may think now – no – the Zucchinis have not been imprisoned because they pose an eminent flight risk – but – they have been taken into protective custody because of the evil birds nesting everywhere around.
Three Zucchinis have already vanished over night so far and this had to stop immediately or the harvest will be pretty sad.

Speaking of which – I am proud to present you our first veggies this year:

Spinach and Red Radish – which later today will be turned into a delicious fresh salad for supper!

Another premiere is due to show you today – Mommy had another fit of acting as an architect – and built a Tomato-House:

And I will let you in on a secret – Mommy cheated! Well – not that she chose to, to be absolutely honest with you.
Those tomatoes you see on the picture – she bought them in a nursery. As luck didn’t really seem to be on her side this year regarding the seeding and growing of tomatoes, once she decided to leave the little plants outside during the night – night frost struck exactly that night – destroying the plants. Hopefully – better luck next year!
